Documentary wedding photography is what it’s all about for me. These are the wedding photos that really matter – a proud dad walking his beautiful daughter down the aisle; not being able to take your eyes off each other during your wedding vows; your friends & family enjoying themselves; the best man telling THAT story during the speeches and Aunt Beryl not knowing where to look – you get the idea! These wedding photos really do bring it all back clear as day and that’s why they mean so much to me and my clients.
We live in Durham and are proud parents to our amazing little boy Matthew, he means the world to me. Life moves along so quickly, it’s such a busy whirlwind at times, and photos become even more important for you to remember all the special times with the people you love.
Me as a person? I’m a friendly, easy going guy, love meeting new people, days out with my family, great coffee, the coast, fillet steak with peppercorn sauce, mountain biking, motorsport, skiing, Rudimental, the Foo Fighters, travelling (love Italy as that also ticks the great coffee box!), and a chilled G&T at the end of the day.
"Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever... It remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything"
When Simon and I met back in 2004 our love of photography brought us together. We make a brilliant team, we know how each other thinks and that means we instinctively work alongside each other to photograph two different perspectives of a wedding day.
We met when we lived over in the Lake District, and we moved over to Durham in 2007, after our own wedding. Simon’s from Durham originally and it didn’t take much convincing for me to decide a move was a fantastic idea. It’s a great city in which to start a family, there’s so much going on and we love the place.
I enjoy spending time with my friends & family (cake and afternoon tea often feature!!), cooking (love the Great British Bake Off), warm weather, sunsets, travelling and music, and of course days out with Matthew & Simon :)
